Barcelona, Spain – Mar 4, 2015 – Telenity, a leading provider of innovative services and solutions for communications networks, today announced that its CanVAS® Messaging Suite was deployed as part of the network infrastructure of a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) in Southern Europe.
With its flagship CanVAS® Messaging Suite solution, Telenity provides the network elements for Short Message Service Center (SMSC), Multimedia Messaging Service Center (MMSC) and Messaging Gateway functions, integrated with HP’s OpenCall Universal Signaling Platform (USP-‐M) and IP Signaling Transfer Gateway (IP-‐STG) solutions on a completely virtualized server environment.
“Working with Telenity, we offer Mobile Network Operators and MVNOs a set of cost-effective core network components,” said Petro Lanzetta, Applications & Cloud Enablement Practice Principal for Italy at HP. “Utilizing the latest trends and technologies in server virtualization, energy efficiency, and resource sharing, mobile operators and service providers can decrease the operating costs of their existing core network components significantly.”
To meet the stringent “carrier-grade” requirements of mobile operators, core network components have been traditionally built on legacy platforms that were optimized for performance and reliability. With advancements in technology, today Over‐The‐Counter (OTC) components for computing, storage and networking functions can meet and exceed these requirements in a more flexible and generic fashion.
“HP-‐Telenity solution helped our client achieve a major milestone in the modernization of our core network by providing a significantly lower power consumption, a smaller footprint and reduced Operations and Maintenance costs.” said Kenan Esmer, VP Business Development & Sales at Telenity. “Moving the core mobile network functions away from legacy components to a virtual environment is a huge step towards completing the transformation of our infrastructure into a converged datacenter.”
